AENIGMATITE, Eveslogchorr Mountain, Khibiny Massif, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Nice, black prismatic crystals .5" and longer in matrix with minor associated astrophyllite. The albite matrix fluoresces red in shortwave UV light. 1.5" by 1.5" matrix for $15; 2" x 2" matrix for $20; and 3" by 2" for $24.

CORUNDUM, var. SAPPHIRE, Karelia, Russia. Sharp, hexagonal crystals with gray-blue color and sharp terminations about .25" long, in schist matrix. 1" by 1" matrix for $15, 1.5" by 1.5" for $22.50, larger for $30.

DENISOVITE, Yukspor Mountain, Khibiny Massif, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Silky white and gray fibrous crystals in matrix, about 1" by 1" for $20, bigger for $25.

FEDORITE, Murun Massif, Yakutia, Russia. Tan, platy crystals in matrix of very light purple charoite (our April 1998 mineral) matrix about 1.5" by 1" for $22.50. Slightly larger without charoite for $25.

GÖRGEYITE, Inder Lake, near Guries city, Kazakhstan. Yellowish, thin, tabular crystals that fluoresce bright yellow in short- and longwave UV light, 1" by 1.5" for $25, 2" by 2" for $30.

HOLTITE, Vasin Mylk, Voronya Tundra, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Pale violet crystalline granular holtite in pegmatite that fluoresces bright yellow in shortwave UV light. 1" by 1.5" matrix pieces for $30, 2" by 2" for $35.

KHAIDARKANITE, Khaidarkan, Kyrgyzstan, type locality! Bright blue, turquiose-colored acicular radial sprays on matrix. About 1" by 1" for $30 or 1.5" by 1.5" matrix for $35.

KOVDORSKITE, Kovdor massif, Khibiny Massif, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Pale rose-colored single prismatic crystals about .75" long with good terminations for $16, smaller for $12.

NATIVE PLATINUM, Konder mine, Aldan shield, Sakha Republic, Russia. Small, somewhat-deformed cubes of this valuable metal. About ⅛” for $40 or about ⅜” for $60.

SHUISKITE, Saranovskoe deposit, Ural Mountains, Russia. Very small, purple-brown needle crystals on chromite matrix with minute, bright green uvarovite crystals. You’ll need your 10x loupe to see these beauties! We featured uvarovite garnet in Feb, 2001, so we’ll include its write-up with these. 1" by 1" matrix pieces for $20, smaller for $15, larger for $30.

SIDORENKITE, Alluaiv Mountain, Lovozero massif, Kola Peninsula, Russia. Small, prismatic pink crystals frozen in matrix about 1.5" by 1.5" for $20 and 2" by 2" for $24.

TRIPHYLITE, Karasu Karavshin, Turkestan Range of Tien Shan, Kyrgyzstan. About 2" by 1.5" matrix for $16, 2" x 2" and slightly bigger for $20.

ATACAMITE, Mina La Farola, Tierra Amarilla, Copiapo Department, Chile, Sept 1999. Large matrix pieces about 4" by 3" with lots of intensely green needle-like crystals on a layer of green malachite for $30 and $40 by quality.

COBALTOAN DOLOMITE, KOV pit, Kolwezi, Shaba District, Dem Rep of Congo, Aug 2002. Hot-pink drusy crystals on matrix, about 1.5" by 1" to 2" by 1.5" for $10, $12, $14.

DIOPTASE, Altyn-Tube, Karganda Oblast’, Kazachstan, Sept 2001. Intense green drusy crystals on matrix about .75" by .75" for $18, 1.75" by 1" for $30.

GYPSUM, Red River Floodway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, May 2001. Clay-centered ball-shaped clusters of dark yellow crystals jutting out all around, about 2" in diameter, with a swallowtail-twinned pair of light colored crystals on top-beautiful!–for $24, and bigger/better for $34 and $40.

IMPERIAL TOPAZ, Rodrigo Silva, Minas Gerais, Brazil, March 2001. 1" crystals with good color and terminations for $22.50, slightly smaller for $12, and larger for $60, $80, $100.

KYANITE, Khit Island, Karelia Republic, Russia, Oct 2004. Dark blue blades frozen in a sparkly matrix of white quartz, black biotite, and reddish brown garnets and staurolite, about 2" by 1.5" for $18, 2.5" by 1" for $30, and 3" by 2" for $36, one larger for $50.

LEPIDOLITE, various localities, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Jan 2000. Spherical mounds of light purple lepidolite mica about 2" by 3" for $16, $18, and $20, by size/quality. Larger pieces with more typically layered lepidolite with white feldspar, about 3" by 4" and larger for $24 or 2" by 3" for $12.

ORPIMENT, Elbrusskiy mine, North Caucasus, Russia, May 2005. A bed of very small, very bright orange crystals rising from the matrix–these are simply gorgeous! About 2" by 1.5" matrix for $40, twice as big matrix for $80, $90, $100.

PYRITE, Victoria mine, Navajun, Spain, March 1996/2006, from our recent trip! Highly symmetrical cubes about .75" on matrix about 2" by 2" for $22.50; or for the same price you could specify 2" by 2" matrix with a couple (or more) of smaller cubes. STAUROLITE, Kola Peninsula, Russia, May 2000. Cross-shaped twins on white mica schist matrix, suitable for jewelry. .5" diameter matrix for $15, .75" by .5" oval matrix for $20.

PYRITE-REPLACED AMMONITES, Russia, These are the best we've ever seen- the chambers are very complete, and some of the pyrite crystals are iridescent! They go from about 2" high by 1.75" wide to 2.5" by 2" for $50, $54, and $60; and larger, about 2.75" by 2.25" wide for $100, $110, and $150.

EPIDOTE, Bilalma near Murgab, Eastern Pamir Mountains, Tajikistan. Lustrous, striated, prismatic greenish-black single crystals with excellent terminations and no matrix, about .75" high for $20.
BOURNONITE, Yaogangxian, Hunan Province, China. Excellent, sharp, metallic black crystals, no matrix, about .5" for $24, about 1" for $30, and bigger for $40, $45, $50.

METEORITES, Sikhote-Alin, Russia, our April 2004 featured mineral (Kamacite). We received another batch with smaller pieces, similar to what we sent to Deluxe Club members back in 2004, about 1.5" across and .5" to 1" wide, for $30. These are from the meteorite that fell to Earth at 10:30 AM, February, 1947–perhaps some remember hearing about it when it happened? We still have a few larger pieces about 3" by 1" for $48. Since we featured these, we have a fascinating write-up to go with them.
METEORITES, Gran Chaco Gualamba, near Campo del Cielo, Argentina. Excellent quality specimens from a new find close to the site at Campo del Cielo, with good fingerprinting from about 3.5" by 2" to 4" by 2.5" for $90 to $150, and one larger for $360. Email us if you’d like photos of these attractive visitors from outer space!
MOLDAVITE, Czech Republic, our December 2001 stone, the natural glass believed to have been formed by the impact of the meteorite that created the Ries Crater in southern Germany. A new batch of gemmy green pieces about quarter to half dollar size for $40 to $60 to $80 by weight. You’re sure to find the write-up that comes with it quite fascinating!
ARSENOPYRITE, SIDERITE, QUARTZ, Nandan, Guangzi Province, China, attractive combination specimens with sharp .25" to .5" metallic gray arsenopyrite specimens and root beer brown siderite crystals, along with occasional quartz, too–very attractive composite pieces! About 2" by 1" for $15, and $30; 2" by 3" for $35, and $40, by size.
SPINEL, Luc Yen, Yenbai Province, Vietnam. We have small red octahedrons, not quite perfectly formed, but very nice, on white marble matrix about 2" by 2" for $16 and $24.

JET, Mongolia. We are one of the few sources for this rare lightweight black stone, related to coal. We have 1 pound bags of tumble-polished stones for $24, and for those who might want it in bulk, 4.4 pound (2-kilo) bags for $68. We have three size ranges: Small, about 1" by 1" to 1.5" by 1.5"; Medium, about 1.5" by 1.5" to 2" by 2"; and Large, about 2" by 2" to 3" by 2.5", so let us know if you want a certain size, or just a mix. WOOLLY MAMMOTH HAIR, found with the remains of other animals in permafrost north of Yakutsk, Sakha Republic, Russia. We can put a few strands in a plastic bag for $5 each, or can weigh out a small hank for $20, $24, $30; or sell it by the gram at $30/gram-- the hair is lightweight, so you get a fair amount. It’s almost gone, and we don’t plan to get more.
