EXTRA QUALITY CINNABAR AVAILABLE FOR FEBRUARY!

It’s been literally years that we’ve been wanting to feature cinnabar, our first mineral containing the unique element mercury, and we were able to get some even better-than-usual specimens for those who would like to upgrade. See our web site for photos of a typical cinnabar specimen.

The regular Deluxe-size specimens are matrix pieces, with red and gray crystals associated

with white calcite (or perhaps dolomite) and quartz. The matrix size ranges from about 2" by 2" to about 2˝" by 3", and if you prefer a piece with small matrix or large matrix, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you, at no extra cost! Please let us know by January 25th, as we will leave soon after that for the Tucson show.

We have a few extra quality Deluxe-size specimens– same size matrix, but slightly bigger crystals. We have some available for an additional $10, some for an additional $16, and some for an additional $26. Please let us know by January 25th if you wish to upgrade, if at all possible– thanks!

The photo on the left shows typical Deluxe-size cinnabar specimen. Photo on right shows a close-up of the crystal on the specimen on the left.

The Junior specimens are loose crystals with no matrix, and we plan to mount them in magnifying cases for improved viewing. Any Junior member is welcome to order a Deluxe-size specimen on a one-time basis for $15.50 extra, and to specify what size matrix they would like– but please, by January 25th!

Also from China, we received some good, metallic crystals of arsenopyrite on matrix, about 2" by 3" for $24, with a couple of extra quality pieces for $28, $30, $36, and $60. Very nice!
